Dairy All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG)
The Dairy APPG was set up to provide a forum for parliamentarians to discuss issues of interest for the dairy industry. This is to ensure they are fully briefed on developments in the dairy supply chain and to support the development of a sustainable and profitable dairy industry.
RABDF will influence and lobby government and policymakers through our joint secretariat of the APPG.
The Dairy APPG is currently chaired by Scott Mann MP and has two key focuses this year:
1. To present Government with a report detailing what is required from a trade deal for the dairy industry
2. To improve the image and marketing of dairy products to consumers
We have recently held evidence sessions looking at dairy exports from a variety of industry perspectives, we are also calling for any written evidence - if you would like to submit a piece of written evidence into these inquiries please email victoriachomiak@rabdf.co.uk
We heard evidence from;
- Robin Manning, Team Leader, Farming and Trade, Agri-Food Chain Directorate, Defra
- David Swales, Senior Policy Analyst, Market Intelligence, AHDB
- Peter Dawson, Dairy UK
- Peter Alvis, Lye Cross Farm
