Bicton College and Duchy College operate across the whole of Devon and Cornwall, with their main campuses in East Devon and the Devon/Cornwall border respectively. Students have the benefit of the stunning countryside and unique coastline and beaches. With dairy herds at both colleges and the South West being home to 40% of the national dairy herd, there is a strong focus on dairy farming.
We offer courses from Level 1 (entry level) through to our BSc (Hons) Agriculture and our flagship Challenge for Rural Leadership programme, along with apprenticeships. In 2014, the successful delivery of cutting edge knowledge transfer to the farming community across South West England led to the College being awarded a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Further & Higher Education, the first time for a land-based college. The College uses the close links with industry built up through this work to the full in the development of benefit of all students.
All students will also have involvement in our new ‘Future Farm’ state-of-the-art dairy facility, soon to be completed at Duchy College and also gain from the College’s renowned Rural Business School and Agri-Tech Cornwall project.
We offer the following courses:
Level 1 Agriculture Certificate
Level 2 Agriculture Certificate
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture
Apprenticeships are offered at Levels 2, 3 & 4
