AHDB board member and head of the dairy sector board, Gwyn Jones will be the guest speaker at the Trehane Livestock Event Dinner, the first to be held on the eve of the Livestock Event – Tuesday 7 July, at The NEC, Birmingham.
Mr Jones, who has farmed in West Sussex for over 30 years, is a Nuffield Scholar, Royal Agricultural Society of England fellow, and former NFU National Dairy Board chairman and NFU vice president. At the dinner, he will be outlining his vision for the dairy industry and the future role of AHDB Dairy in supporting farmers in an increasingly globalised marketplace.
It is hoped that this new-style dinner in The NEC’s Gallery Restaurant, will become a major networking event and spread awareness of the Trehane Trust to a wider audience. With its annual sponsorship of several UK dairy-focused Nuffield Scholars, it is also expected the event will encourage more interest in applying for scholarships and better recognition for the subsequent achievements of past scholars.
Prof Wynne Jones, Chairman of the Trehane Trust says: “We are delighted that Gwyn Jones has agreed to speak at this newly-launched event and we look forward to welcoming livestock farmers and members of the supply trade as well as scholars to what we anticipate will be a very convivial industry event.”
Tickets for the drinks reception and four-course dinner with wine cost £68 and are available from the Livestock Event website or 0845 4582711; discount tickets are available for Trehane Scholars
