Herdwatch was presented with the RABDF Prince Philip Award 2016 by His Royal Highness at Buckingham Palace this week. The honour was made to the company for research and development in the field of dairy farming and the most practical, relevant and best technical exhibit at the Livestock Event.
The judges made their decision on the County Tipperary based company’s Herdwatch Farming App, a tool designed to make compliance recording easy, place information at farmers’ fingertips in order to make informed decisions at the right time, and save hours on paperwork.
“We are thrilled to win this award for our company which is just two years old,” says Herdwatch’s co-founder and chief executive, Fabien Peyaud. “This farm App has already found strong wings with 4,000 Irish farmers using the tool and we are continuing to develop new features for our customers. What’s more, the App now has the opportunity to help UK farmers with their compliance paperwork, which we are aware is causing similar headaches to their counterparts in Ireland.”
RABDF chairman, Mike King says: “As organiser of the Livestock Event, we are focused on communicating to farmers the benefits of best practice and technology transfer which will help towards improving their enterprise’s overall efficiency. We are pleased to reward those exhibitors who excel in technical innovation and presentation, and the Herdwatch Farming App was an excellent example."
