Emma is currently in her final year at Harper Adams University, studying Agri-business BSc (Hons).
For my final year research project titled "Assessing Agricultural Policy-Induced Shifts in UK Dairy Farming: A Study Based on Farmers Behavioural Responses to ELMS and SFI Schemes",
I aim to explore the factors influencing dairy farmers' willingness to adopt the ELMS (Environmental Land Management Scheme) and SFI (Sustainable Farming Incentive) policies. These government schemes are designed to encourage sustainable farming practices, but it remains unclear how effectively they are being adopted within the UK dairy sector. Through this research, I seek to gain insight into the behavioural responses of farmers towards these policy incentives, the challenges they face, and the key factors that drive or hinder adoption. This research will contribute to a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of such policies in promoting sustainability within UK dairy farming and gain an insight into the future of food production.
