RABDF Prince Philip Award goes to Genus ABS

Genus ABS has been presented with the RABDF Prince Philip Award by His Royal Highness at Buckingham Palace, this week. The honour was made to the world leading agriculture company for research and development in the field of dairy farming and the most practical, relevant and best technical exhibit at Livestock Event 2014.

“We feel honoured and privileged to win this award for Valiant Foam-Active wipes which were developed as part of the company’s on-going commitment to innovation and investment and from listening to our farmer customers’ needs,” says Genus ABS’s Dave Hodgson. “The product uses a specially formulated combination of active ingredients, resulting in a highly effective broad spectrum anti-bacterial foaming disinfectant. When squeezed, the wipe produces dense foam to both clean and disinfect teats providing a convenient one-step prep and a superior standard of pre-cleansing.”

A Certificate of Merit was awarded to XLVets for its exhibit featuring ‘make your farm your fortress’, a campaign designed to put biosecurity at the top of farmers to do lists, and in particular tackle BVD.

RABDF president, Prof David Leaver says: “The RABDF Prince Philip Award is for innovations in the field of dairy farming and the industry benefits greatly from such R&D developments by supply companies like Genus ABS and XL Vets. The new products developed by these companies clearly have the potential to increase the productivity of dairy farming in the UK, and to improve our competitiveness in the global marketplace.”
